CSIR-NEERI, Hyderabad Zonal Centre was established in the year 1960 and was the first zonal centre started by CSIR-NEERI. The focus of the Hyderabad Zonal Centre (HZC) is to identify, predict and assess the significance of environmental and social impacts of any developmental activity on air, water, noise levels, land use and ecology. It also provides input and advice on mitigation options, monitoring measures to prevent, reduce or remedy significant adverse impacts on the environment including coastal/marine environment. The centre is well equipped for water, wastewater, soil & sediment analysis with respect to physico-chemical parameters, biological and bacteriological parameters and ambient air quality monitoring, modelling and emission inventory studies.
