HYBRID PROCESSES FOR SYNTHESIS OF PHOTON INDUCED METAL AND METAL OXIDE COMPOSITES AND PHOTOCATALYTIC APPLICATIONS THEREOF
New and hybrid processes for synthesis of photon induced metal and metal oxide composites for various photocatalytic applications have been developed. The invention addresses three aspects including :
The second aspect includes photocatalytic chemical looping reactions of water splitting and hydrogen peroxide splitting with concomitant steam generation by exploiting SPR effect. The third aspect includes other applications of water and waste water treatment using SPR materials like simultaneous defluoridation and hydrogen generation and disinfection. Thus the new photocatalytic materials developed have been used for generating solar fuels includingsteam with promising industrial applications hydrogen and hydrogen peroxide for fuel cell applications for stationary and mobile sources as well as its use for internal combustion engine and other related applications as chemical and fuel of steam and hydrogen. These promising applications of hydrogen and steam may prove to be a revolutionary technical advancement required for fuel economy demanding carbon neutral energy production. |
